Save the Kansan (AT-11)

The Commemorative Air Force is a patriotic organization dedicated to men, women and aircraft that led our country to victory in WWII. These were people and aircraft of the "Greatest Generation" and we need to preserve that memory for future generations.We do this by restoring and flying aircraft so that everyone can know what it was like to fly them in training or combat. Our aircraft is a Beechcraft AT-11 Kansan that was delivered to Albuquerque Army Airfield in January 1942, just 30 miles away from where we are restoring it! Thousands of airmen were trained in this very airplane right here in Albuquerque,
We have spent 14 dedicated years of volunteer mechanical labor and over $105,000 of our personal funds toward this project, but we cannot do it alone. It will take another $9000 to overhaul the propellers to get us back into the air.
