TRUFFLE is a sweet (almost) 2 month old female Australian/Shepherd/Collie blend who was surrendered by her owners on Saturday, March 25th, along with six brothers & sisters.


TRUFFLE was born with a leg deformity because of this deformity she has no muscle mass in her hind leg.  It is impossible to regrow muscle mass, therefor her leg will always be limp and useless. If allowed to continue to grow, the leg will drag and may cause additional damage and pain limiting her ability to freely walk or run. 


TRUFFLE received a preliminary assessment from one of our partner vet clinics and she is a good candidate for surgery. Amputating the hind leg is the best option to ensure TRUFFLE has to be mobile and live a full life.  Tripods (dogs with three legs) are just as active as their four legged brothers and sisters.
