Save the Unwanted Tails

Donation protected

Unwanted Tails speaks for itself....I'm just the simple chic behind it tryin to save as many of these loving lives as I can :) Every one of their stories is different as is every eye, face, tail and kiss....unfortunately most of them come from the worst of the worst of the horrid. These are the dogs deemed "unadoptable" by shelters, abandoned, betrayed or grossly abused by humans. Some, that were never given a second chance and sent to death row not even for their looks or behavior...but over population, shortness in foster homes, pounds even with little to no staff, meds or even vets.  Their stories are all sad really......but their hearts are still full of so much light and love....they save my life every day, and I am gonna give it everything I've got to do the same for as many of them as I can........but I am no saint and certainly no millionaire......so world.....we need your help!!!Several of them  suffer from severe medical issues, such as Willow (pictured above).  They too are also unfortunately put down do to the lack of funds needed for them specifically. Willow was deemed unadoptable and would lash out for what appeared to be no reason at all, but was found out to have an eye condition that gave her no peripheral vision whatsoever.  One of my amazing vets at Agape discovered the issue right away.  After a few eye tests  he determined the cause not even to be a birth defect...but hard repetative blows to the head over a peroid of time that had literally left her horribly damaged with a torn retina as well... This he assured me is quite painful :(   She was so sweet to the staff and kissed him all over his face as if she knew he had finally found her pain. I was super relieved when he told me mostly all of it can be corrected....but the sooner the better. Her surgery will cost $3,500 to fix both eyes plus meds and recovery time......not impossible because this girl is worth it and deserves a forever home with love this time not hate. Our boy Rico :) His story starts out with a crate. A crate he would sadly come to know as his everything. For the first 5 years of his life Rico was literally kept behind bars.  He came from a hoarding/breeding situation  and was only allowed out to procreate. When I saved him from death row for aggression, which for him was intense fear and confusion, I will never forget how soft his pads were. My beautiful dedicated vets at Little House informed my naive self in the moment that they were so soft because they had never been used before. A piece of my heart dropped off that day when I looked him in the eyes and started to cry. He never knew love, human touch, how to play, run, dig, jump, or eat a treat. Hell, he was so afraid of his own tail the first time it wagged in a yard.   I had spent a week trying to get him off the deck and into the grass, which he had clearly never seen before...let alone got a chance as a dog to roll around in even. His only job or purpose was to breed for cash.  His recovery has been long and slow, but how truly amazing it has been to see him grow just even a tich each day is towards a new life and a new home.  Rico is very special to a lot of people that have helped me with him over the past 10 months,  but he deserves more than what I am capable of doing for him.  My wonderful friends at Nashville K-9 are going to help us. I do need $1,500 for training/boarding and intense therapy to help Rico reset his clock so we can get him a home!
My most recent foster is Apollo, a 2-ish year old Boxer/Hound mix. Found as a stray roaming around scared, lost and starving in a rural part outside of Nashville.  He was never claimed and was slated for euthanasia along with 19 others do to lack of room in a pound with no donations, volunteers, equipment, medication, no staff .....no nothing.  In this world, covered with so much ugly and horrible, the rare moments I find so humbling is the chance to save these lives together.  Apollo brought one of my oldest friends, Ashley, and I together along with Sarah and Kathy...two other phenomenal rescues that allowed us in less than 12 hours to pull all 19 of these precious creatures out of death and into second chances.  He is needing full vetting, medical care to get him fixed and a few weeks to heal and gain his weight back.  He is about 20lbs neglected under weight and need to get him ready for adoption.  Sweetest dog you'll ever meet tho...I am truly blessed to be a part of his story along with so many others!!These two boys come from courage and a true story of hope for the unwanted.... meet Zeus and Thor.  These boys suffered the unimaginable before they were even born. Their poor mother had been abandoned by her humans and left behind in a closed off shed. As she cried for help for her starving and dehydrated self and her babies....weeks would unbelievably go by before help arrived.  Instead of hearing tears and hollers,  the smell of death were the only repots that were actually heard. The mother obviously due to lack of food, water and loss of blood had been gone for at least a week....the boys,  two of seven....were two of four that survived.  Scared, hurt, weak, and starved they had never seen nor even heard people till those doors swung open. Their medical stay was a true fight to survive mainly due to the severe, almost irreversible, stomach infections they caught from their mothers spoiled milk :(      It was a rough start to one of my favorite cases and was a true test that became a true eye opener for me personally.  Because of these boys, I know what I am meant to do in this lifetime. Their aggression has been mastered. Their health cleared and they are champions.  God love both of these boys' families for everything we have all sacrificed to see them through it.  They are nothing less than a miracle :)

My delicious crew above all come from so many different backgrounds of ugly and personalities that don't always match each other :).....but every one of these kids has helped me with one or more of the epic faces you are about to see!

All of these kids are just a few of the ones that have passed thru my heart and have touched my life. I am forever greatful they are all happy home and loved spread throughout our beautiful United States...
