Hello Everyone,
It's Sandee and David Harraden from the Ivey House in Everglades City, Florida. On Sept. 10, 2017, we were hit hard by Irma's fierce winds and storm surge. Approximately four feet of water filled our home, two employee homes, two equipment garages, the Cottage, and the historical Ivey House Lodge. All these buildings have been condemned, but we intend to rebuild. The new building, the Ivey House Inn, is intact. This is the large building consisting of 17 rooms around the pool and courtyard. Our dining room and offices were also spared. After days of hard work by us and our dedicated employees, we have some rooms available for rent with limited services.
Eight-six percent of Everglades City's homes have been condemned, but they also intend to rebuild. What we need the most from you now, is to return as a guest to stay at our hotels, eat in our restaurants and enjoy our recreational activities in Everglades City.
We have been blessed with 38 magnificent years of love, laughter and memories with wonderful guests who have supported us all these years. I am reaching out to you and others who may be future guests. At this time we need your financial assistance to help us rebuild our Ivey House and again be able to provide lodging, rentals and guided trips to you and others. No amount of money is too small.
