My name is Steven Fox. I am a US Navy Veteran. I am 72 years old and I survived a heart attack, pneumonia and congestive heart failure. I had been in and out of the hospital since January 1, 2018 until March 23, 2018 (longest time in hospital was 25 days and ICU twice). During this time a family member took advantage of me and I have not had access to any of my income/assets. This family member has been spreading misinformation about me telling people I am incompetent and under hospice care on my death bed, which is not true. This family member is using an invalid durable power of attorney that she was not authorized to use to illegally conduct business in my name. This family member sold my mobile home without my permission with my belongings still in it. My mother was an artist and her artwork was inside. 

I can assure you I am not incompetent  (I under went a competency assessment by a psychiatrist) and I am not on hospice. I have been preparing for open heart surgery at a facility. My daughter Jamie has been paying for all of my expenses, so I will be ready for the surgery. If it wasn't for Jamie I would be homeless.  I have no home to go to after I have re-cooperated from the surgery. 

Local law enforcement and the District Attorney are investigating the case , but these procedures take a long time and require intensive investigation; all of which are expensive. 

The funds will be used for two purposes.  Since I do not have access to my income I need help with an attorney retainer fee and on-going legal help specializing in elder financial abuse. I also need help paying for the board & care where I am currently living, which costs $5k per month while I prepare for heart surgery and where I will recover after heart surgery.  In California board & care facilities are expensive. The cheapest are around $3700 per month.  There is a housing crisis where I live caused by high rent, high home prices, housing shortage and the recent natural disaster (fires) which destroyed thousands of homes.  I need to be close to family who help me get to medical appointments and provide other support. 

The real estate agent who purchased my home illegally from my family member was informed of the disputed sale, however he willfully chose to ignore me and refused to report the dispute to the title company so they could investigate. Whenever a real estate agent is informed that there is a dispute regarding a home sale the agent must inform the title company so the title company can investigate. The agent refused to tell me which title company he and my family member were using and they both refused to give me copies of other documents, which he was illegally obligated to do. 

I cannot do this alone. I need legal help to fight this battle for me and help to keep me healthy. My daughter Jamie pays for my transportation to the many medical appointments I must go to and for the medications I need.

I am hoping you will help me save my home. It is all I have. 

The funds from this campaign will be withdrawn and placed into a bank account for the benefit of Steven B. Fox.  Funds from the account will be used to pay attorneys, legal filing fees, storage fees, basic living costs, and HOPEFULLY BUY A MOBILE HOME by writing checks to Steven B. Fox. Thank you!

As you can see I am not under hospice care like my family member who sold my home claims. This is me after being in/out of the hospital. 

I have been undergoing a lot of tests to make sure I can survive open heart surgery. I was told I healthy enough to undergo heart surgery and the surgery is scheduled!
