In the second week of his first internship, in an industrial environment, and while manipulating a big machine, his life took a turnover. A fatal work accident occurred resulting in crushing both of his legs, this sad accident happened in February 2017. Since that day, his family has been struggling, supporting him emotionally and financially to the last penny. More than 18 months now, and after many surgeries and treatments, his situation is still CRITICAL, he lost the top part of his right foot and we still can see his uncovered bones. Many other surgeries are still needed to save his legs. But his family does not have any funds left to operate. And most unfortunately, no insurance to cover any of this. His critical situation needs intensive care in one of the specialized centers in France. France is one of the leaders in this kind of surgeries; a treatment there can save his both legs and end up this tragedy. The way is still long and difficult; the following complicated surgeries need to be performed successfully to save these two legs: Reconstitution of arteries and veins, bones, muscles, skin and nerves. Once these surgeries will be successfully performed, a physical therapy is needed, because this young man didn't move his legs for more than 18 months now, he has been spending his last 18 months laying on his back, in his room, and praying for a miracle. This whole medical process requires: three complicated surgeries, at least 4 months of intensive care and a long physical therapy for both legs. For all these medical steps, he needs 150 000 Euro (the equivalent of 230 000 CAD). It may be a big amount but no one deserves to lose his legs and live miserably for the rest of his life, just because of the lack of funds. This can be deadly especially if that person had the courage and the hope to live and to accomplish one’s dreams. I believe that the earth is still filled with generous hearts, so on behalf of him and his family; I am asking you and begging you to help him get back the sunny smile that faded since the tragedy. D’autres interventions sont nécessaires pour reconstituer la grande perte de substance (peau, muscle, artères et veines, os, nerfs) et ne sont réalisables qu’en France dans des centres spécialisés. Le chemin est donc encore douloureux et difficile. Un long suivi physio-thérapeutique est incontournable par la suite, ce jeune homme étant cloué à son lit depuis l’horrible accident.
Le coût total de la procédure qui durera entre 4 et 6 mois est estimé à 150 000 euros (l'équivalent de 230 000 CAD). Ce montant peut sembler énorme, mais personne ne choisit ni mérite de perdre ses deux jambes menant ainsi une existence misérable et désolée.
Je crois très fort que la terre est encore habitée par de grands cœurs et, au nom de ce jeune homme et de celui de sa famille, je vous demanderais et prierais de l'aider à récupérer son innocent sourire qui s’est effacé depuis la tragédie.
