The stray animals in Greece, as well as in other southern European countries, live a gruesome life... there is no institution to take care of them, they are left alone by almost everybody. Besides the booming tourism of the Mediterranean, they fight for the sake of survival each and every day.
Uncontrolled reproduction and diseases are adding up to the problem way faster than the few people and organisations, that are there to help them, can compensate. This campaign is dedicated to a certain group of people, that dedicated their lifes to help those poor creatures, located in Porto Heli, Greece. As there is no centralised anything to help strays, actions like this are the animals only hope. The plan is to gain their trust, catch them, feed them up and treat them medically, neuter them and find new loving homes for them all over Europe.
It's a fight against windmills, there is never enough money to feed the expenses, it's a constant struggle. Right now is a very hairy situation, the money for food has run out and the whole project is threatened by it. If this goes down, all the animals being treated right now will have to go back into the streets to fight on their own, let alone the many creatures that will be rescued in the future...
So please, if you find it in your heart and have the means to help out just a little bit, send something over to them, they will get the full amount of whatever you donate, without cuttings. There is no company behind this, just real people that you can contact and follow, which is also well appreciated. Any kind of attention, sharing or donating, matters in this case, so don't hesitate to step right in.

Die streunenden Tiere in Griechenland, wie in vielen anderen südeuropäischen Ländern auch, haben kein einfaches Leben... es gibt keine staatliche Institution die sich um sie kümmert, sie werden von fast allen im Stich gelassen. Direkt neben dem boomenden Tourismus kämpfen sie jeden Tag ums nackte Überleben.
Die unkontrollierte Vermehrung sowie Krankheiten vergrößern das Problem schneller als die Wenigen, die ihnen zur Seite stehen, es bekämpfen können. Diese Kampagne unterstützt eine bestimmte Gruppe von Menschen in Porto Heli, die es sich zur Lebensaufgabe gemacht hat, diesen armen Kreaturen zu helfen. Da es wie gesagt keine zentral organisierte Hilfe gibt sind Aktionen wie diese ihre einzige Hoffnung. Das Ziel ist es, das Vertrauen der Tiere zu gewinnen, sie einzufangen und aufzupeppeln, sie medizinisch zu behandeln und zu kastrieren, um sie dann in ein neues Zuhause zu vermitteln.
Es ist ein kampf gegen Windmühlen, das Geld reicht nie aus um alle Ausgaben zu decken. Gerade jetzt ist eine besonders schwere Zeit, das Geld für Futter ist ausgegangen und das ganze Projekt droht zu kippen. Wenn das passiert, müssen alle Tiere die derzeit behandelt werden zurück auf die Straße, ganz abgesehen von den vielen Tieren denen in Zukunft geholfen werden könnte...
