Save the Pioneer Settlement.

Tax deductible
The Panhandle Pioneer Settlement was founded in July 1989 to bring together the material history of life in Calhoun County and the Florida Panhandle between the 1820s and the 1940s. Since then thousands of visitors have come from around the country to see the buildings as well as experience "a day in the life" through live reenactments. Today, the Settlement has 18 buildings of historical significance, many of which were badly damaged by Hurricane Michael! The settlement is a non-profit and can not afford the necessary repairs. This was a big part of our community and the caretakers are elderly. If you can not donate please consider volunteering your time, and assisting with repairs or clean up.  Any funds raised are deposited directly into the Settlement's non-profit account through Go-Fund-Me.  Though I am not a direct employee, I am employed with Calhoun County. I am local who has both enjoyed the settlement as well as volunteered there in the past, and it pains not only my heart but many others to see it in this condition. The settlement can be reached directly at [phone redacted]. Please click through all the updates to see before and after pictures of the settlement.
