Save The Music Store

After 39 years in Walnut, and after teaching thousands and thousands of students to become better musicians, after many of those students earned admission and scholarships to colleges and universities across the country, we’ve lost our lease on Pinefalls, requiring us to close our doors before the end of May. It is our sincere hope that our alumni and friends of The Music Store (TMS), or those that embrace music as a critical learning opportunity in a student’s life, will support us in our efforts to reopen TMS as a way to pay this mission forward.

And as a result of losing our lease, we had to find places for our students to continue their instruction, and our teachers were kind enough to accept that responsibility on their own for now...but they all want to be back teaching and learning in a safe, productive and inspiring learning environment as soon as possible





Our History.
When our previous landlord required us to move (with a drastic rent increase) from our original location on Colima Avenue, a beautiful location with teaching studios and a recording studio in the back---which many of you might recall---to our Pinefalls location several years ago, this new leasehold had wonderful promise for us; but unfortunately, it never delivered to that promise. From landlord neglect, to a harder-to-find location, it just let us all down.

We want TMS back to its glory days, and if you’re one of our alumni, you’ll remember when we had more than two dozen teachers and over 350 students studying music in our teaching studios each week. We had students of all ages, and we especially enjoyed the younger ones, because we knew the value of music study in developing and expanding their minds. We pride ourselves in making music fun for Kids!



Building a Comeback
It’s time to relaunch our music education program so we can continue building our students’ lives through music. Will you help us? Any donation would be fabulous (as it quickly adds up)...$25, $50, $100, or more, your call. With the end of the month approaching, we really need your donations right away.
With your help, we can cover our moving costs, leasehold improvement costs, teaching studio build outs, and a convenient display area for instruments and accessories. We’re even madly working on researching technology to bring “live” music lessons to students through the Internet—one-on-one

OUR CALL FOR HELP.
We need our rebirth to begin right now. At this point, all our cash has been used up to carry TMS this far, and tapped us into debt to stay afloat. Suffice to say, we did our best; but now our business and our mission is seriously threatened. Our current students and teachers are hoping we find a solution quickly---they love their teachers at TMS, with some big goals to achieve. They’re all hoping we can rescue TMS with your help ASAP.

HOW TO HELP.
First, your donations will be most helpful. In addition, we need help to get the word out about our plight. Posting our GoFundMe link on your FaceBook page (or other clever but legal sites) can bring us more eyeballs, and hopefully, supporters. You can also forward our GoFundMe via email to others who may be interested. This is definately a grassroots effort. And a little traction with a LOT of people can go a long way.
