Land payoff and reconstruction
The Matt King house is the oldest known home in the Lincoln valley, and as such is a very important part of Lincoln's history. It was set to be sold for salvage or sold to move out of the valley. Some of the logs are 2 feet wide, all hand hewn. It's a beautiful building. The loan is PAID OFF!!! We are in the process of securing the land this building and the other 7 buildings the Upper Blackfoot Valley Historical Society has for them all to go on. We've made and offer and it has been accepted, now we need the funding. It will be a museum, a centerpiece, a place to gather, relax, reflect. We need a down payment of $20,000.00. Once we get that, then we will go on to raise funds for paying off the property, but most importantly, getting the Matt King back up. It isn't doing any good sitting and waiting. Then onto moving and working on the other buildings. All of the buildings need some TLC. It is important for all of us, young and old, to remember our roots and the grit and integrity the people of displayed. DOWN PAYMENT OF $20,000.00 FOR LAND IN TOWN!+ Read More
We met our down payment goal with a very generous $10,000.00 donation. We should be signing papers on property mid December! This is going to be a great asset to Lincoln! Every penny helps! We thank you!
We need about $8000.00 more to hit the $20k down payment goal. Then we will have land and will be able to get grants more easily. Please help this great effort continue.
Want to have historic impact? There’s still time to make a tax deductible gift for 2017! Your donations helped pay off the loan of the house along with a grant and there is a lot of work to be done! Foundations, moving, reconstruction etc. Museum/visitor/education project right in town!
