Sweetie(3 legged amputee—Aloha Ilio Rescue) was last seen as lava was covering her property. She was unable to be caught during evacuation as sirens, loud noise, and commotion scared her off. It was hard on everyone.
June 4th was the last confirmed sighting of her, at the end of Kapoho Kai as lava had passed 4 corners and was headed towards the ocean. We think logically she must of headed AWAY from the flow, and towards the coast. It’s possible she headed inland as well.
The area is lava locked and not accessible by roads. Boat is the most feasible way in.
We have made every effort to find her with the assistance of many rescue groups, all trying to save as many lives as possible.
At this point, we need to raise funds for transportation to Pohoiki to reimburse our boat captain who feels as strongly as we do about rescuing Sweetie, and healing our displaced community. (Ikaika Marzo)
Any funds raised will go directly to pay for transportation to the Pohoiki area to search for Sweetie (legally) before it’s too late.
Any extra funds will go to Ikaika Marzo to compensate for tickets already freely given on his boat for transporting any person he kindly helped searching for an animal. ($250 per way)

In addition, we will set up feral cat feeding stations and provide water for cattle roaming the area.
