Save Remington From Parvo Virus

Donation protected
For transparency I have included a photo of Remington’s initial estimate for treatment from Parvo. I have also included his initial treatment bills we had from his regular veterinarian that we paid trying to nail down a specific diagnosis.

A back story on Remington.

We purchased Remington from a breeder on Federal Way, WA. As soon as we had the pup in our car we noticed something was wrong.
He wouldn’t move or look up when called. I thought this was strange and I text the breeder if something was wrong with him or if this is what his disposition was like when he was in his care.
He stated everything was fine so we brought him home and were instantly in love. We named him Remington because, well, it’s a cool name.
Our family instantly welcomed him in. My children were over the moon. As was I! He is so tiny and cute. We just love him. We nicknamed him T. D for tiny dog. If any of you have seen The Sercret Life of Pets you’ll know where that came from. I have two kids. We watch it all the time ❤️
I mean look at that face

The next day he continued to exhibit signs of lethargy and had extreme diarrhea. I called my vet who said to bring him in right away. Once there they tested him for Parvo and a multitude of other issues. His Parvo came back negative but he was diagnosed with Giardia and given antibiotics.

Of course I messaged the guy again to let him know what happened so he would be able to warn any other owners.

So I may have been a little mad, but truly other owners needed to know and he did nothing and took no ownership.

A week later he became sick with a distended belly and the diarrhea came back. I rushed him to my awesome and amazing vet Dr. Weekes of Cherry Valley Vet (plug ) who stayed open over an hour after hours to check on him. He  did an X-ray and gave him fluids but couldn’t find any real reason my he was sick.

Well this past Sunday morning, 08/12/18, Remington took a turn for the worse. He started throwing up around 4am and by 9am couldn’t move. I found a 24 hour emergency vet, Animal Emergency, and Specialty in Kirkland, WA and drove there as fast as I can from the boonies in Monroe.
Once there they ran all the tests they could and found that his tiny little body had been overtaken by the Parvo virus. They told me that if not admitted his chances for survival would be zero %. He also stated that there is about a 3 in 4 chance that he would survive if we chose to have him treated there.

Instantly I wanted to throw up. The tiny guy was so limp and sick. I couldn’t do anything for him but make the decision to admit him or possibly have to euthanize him. The vet estimated that the bill for admittance and 24 hour care would be around $6300.
I called my husband and we made the decision to give him to them and pray that this virus could be beat. There was no way that we would not fight for him and give him a chance. We have visited him everyday since admittance,  veterinarians call every morning at 6am to give us updates. This morning, as of 08/14/18, the bill is at $5200 and rising.
He has had extremely low blood pressure requiring a higher level of care to insure that he doesn’t go into respiratory failure. His protein levels are very low. He has blood work run two times a day. He is still having diarrhea, is limp, and won’t eat. He has a feeding tube in his tiny nose to keep him getting the nutrients that he needs.

His care will most likely far exceed the original estimate but I am only asking for help with what they said it would be. Hopefully people will find this cause something that they want to help out. I can’t believe that someone knowingly would sell a sick dog to a family.
We became attached instantly and he was one of us. Please if you or someone you know can help this tiny guy we would appreciate it so much. If you can see it in your heart please share. His life is in the care of the excellent Drs at AES and gods hands.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
