Save Precious and her baby

A few weeks ago love of my life and I'm pretty sure my soul mate was confirmed as pregnant! Precious, my horse, is finally going to have a baby. My mom was so excited when she heard the news that she cried. But a few days after the good news something happened, Precious had a back leg that had doubled in size over night. We had the vet out and they got the swelling down, but then I found an infection in her hock, and that's when things started going bad. My mom and I got the infection to go away, but Precious still wouldn't put weight on the leg, so we drove her to the vet. The vet checked her over and pulled me aside to give me the news that Precious has a very serious infection called a septic tendon sheath. It can cause permanent damage when not treated promptly, and if gone untreated it can cause death. I just got this news 30 minutes before writing this. I was told my baby, my Precious who I've raised and cared for since she was a baby, could die. And not just her, but the tiny baby that she's carrying. So right now as I'm writing this my mom is driving Precious and I to the Virginia Tech Veterinary clinic for a procedure called a "scope". Before leaving the vet told us that this procedure could cost up to or above $5,000. This was a shock, and when I heard it I felt my heart drop. Because I am a full time grad school student with no paying job, and my mother is a full time gardener; and a full time mom to my little brother. After hearing the news my mom had the talk with me about what we have to do if we can't find the funds to pay for the scope procedure, the talk that breaks everyone's heart who's ever had to put down a beloved pet. So please, help me to save my baby, and the baby she's carrying. I know $5,000 is a lot, but if it saves a mother and her unborn baby, isn't it worth it?
