Save Our Little Bambi’s Life

Hello, my names Patricia Nieto and on June 5th 2018, our beloved 3 yr old merle chihuahua Bambi was struck by a car. After admitting her into various hospitals for treatment, the veterinarians have given us our options. When Bambi was just a pup, she fell into a sewage whole on the sidewalk. The Downey Animal Shelter then rescued her as she was close to starved. After hearing her story, my sister Monica and her two kids, 6 and 7 yrs old, decided to make her a part of the family, to show her unconditional love for the rest of her life. Sadly, it seems NOW Bambi’s life is in danger. When struck by the vehicle her two back legs were dislocated, as well as suffering from brain trauma, swelling and bleeding.  Our poor little Bambi needs femoral head osteotomy, a surgery that will place her back leg bone back in place for her to be able to move them. We have started this GoFundMe because the surgery costs $1,800, and there are no payment arrangements we can make, The vets insist they need the money upfront and full before doing the surgery. If we wait more than another week for the surgery, the leg will not be able to be saved and she will need an amputation. Without any type of treatment, we were told our last option is to uthinize Bambi and say goodbye to her forever. Right now she is just dragging the lower part of her body around, on pain medication but still crying out from the pain she feels in her body. She is a very happy, adventurous and obidiment dog, she’s our family and we don’t want to let her go.
