Oli the Therapy Dog needs help to fund her surgery
On October 15th, we received an email from our friend, Andrea. The email started out with "say a prayer for Oli. " Oli and Andrea were out on a hike on Mission Creek in Santa Barbara and Oli was stepped on by a goat which caused her to dislocate her back left paw. The injury was very bad. The appointment with the surgeon revealed that Oli will need to have fusion surgery to repair the paw. The cost will run approximately $5000.00. The surgery is scheduled for October 31st, Andrea's Birthday.
Our friends Andrea and Oli have contributed and continue to contribute their time, training, and expertise to the Santa Barbara community and we decided set up this Go Fund Me drive to give back to them. The funds will be directly used to assist with the cost of the surgery.
Oli is a miniature schnauzer given to our friend Andrea as an 8 week old puppy for her to train as a Therapy Dog. Together, over the past seven years, Oli and Andrea have volunteered hours and hours of their time throughout Santa Barbara County.
With Andrea at her side, Oli has been an active therapy dog in Santa Barbara county. They have provided comfort and entertainment at numerous venues, including Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care, Camp Hope in Santa Maria, Critter Camp at the Santa Barbara Humane Society, and Friendship Center in Santa Barbara. They volunteer with children in the local schools with their after school reading programs and community libraries with All for Animals ARF! program.
We will greatly appreciate any support you are able to contribute to help Oli get back on all four paws!
