Save my life - Help Repair my Bike

Donation protected
My name is Mark Weidhase and I am a disabled veteran. For years I struggled with suicidal ideations and have a 100% disability rating for PTSD, major depressive disorder and anxiety disorder. Less than three years ago I discovered Project Hero (www.weareprojecthero.org) and found that cycling greatly improved my overall well being, to the point where I was able to live almost free of psychiatric medications. I started riding and then racing to bring more exposure to Project Hero and help others in the same way that it helped me.
On February 9, 2019 I was riding in the Tour de Palm Springs when a car passed very close to me, causing me to move right where I hit a pothole while traveling at a high rate of speed. I don’t recall what happened next and woke up when a passing motorist shook me awake.
My injuries include a dislocated shoulder, three broken ribs and lots of road rash, but the most painful injury is that my 2018 Trek Madone is destroyed. It will cost almost $5,000 to repair and while this may seem like a lot of money, this bike is my medical equipment and has literally saved my life.
I am unemployed and live off my VA disability benefits and can’t afford the repairs on my own. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help me reach the goal of repairing the bike of my dreams.

I thank each and every one of you in advance.
