Save Mum's Remaining Eye

Donation protected
My mum lives in Fiji and has had Diabetes for the last 20 years. 8 years ago she came to Australia to remove a diabetic abscess on her back. She also received pan retinal photocoagulation treatment in both her eyes (also due to her diabetes). She had severe fibrosis and traction in the right eye involving both arcades and a rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. She was referred to Australia where she had a vitreo-retinal surgery in the right eye in 2012. Due to the severity of her condition, her eye remained visually impaired after the surgery. Gradually, over the past 8 years, her vision in her right eye has been lost.
For the past decade she's relied on her left eye to see, but 3 weeks ago after a laser treatment gone wrong in Fiji, her vision suddenly became blurred to the point where she couldn't see. Because she can't see very well she relies on her family in Fiji to help her live which is why she needs urgent surgery in Australia to try and save her left eye.  She is only 68 years old.
The Specialist here in Australia, upon looking at her scans, advised that it will be a complex surgery and cannot guarantee her full vision.
My siblings and I want the best for our mum but we are struggling to put together the total cost of the surgery. We tried to do it ourselves but funds we thought we would get is not coming.  My mum is going through depression and is suffering from the burden she thinks she has put upon us.  I have reassured that this is the not the case. We love our Mum.
She flys in on 16th June and is scheduled for an appointment to see the Specialist on 18th June. We are seeking your assistance urgently.
