Save Matt's Legs

Hi everybody! I’m Kenny Carpenter. I’m Matt “Grigs” Grigsby’s brother-in-law. As some of you may know, Matt has spent the last two years traveling South Asia as a farmer, an English teacher, and explorer. It changed his life for the better. Unfortunately, that journey was abruptly cut short five days ago. Matt was involved in a motorcycle accident in the city of Sakon Nakhon, Thailand. Among other injuries, his legs were severely damaged. Both of his femurs are broken; one clean break and the other shattered including his knee and tibia. He remains bedridden in Thailand awaiting his 4th surgery, as we scramble to get him stateside. Flying him home safely is requiring an extremely expensive medical travel service. We are eager to get him to the U.S. for further treatment as we still fear his left leg could be lost; among other concerns such as infections, the inability to walk, etc. He is in a lot of pain and without family by his side. Assuming his left leg can be saved, he will have a very long recovery time. It is urgent we organize his immediate return. I am creating my first crowd fund now to graciously request any financial support we can muster from your hard earned money. Absolutely anything helps tremendously. Our family is overwhelmed, his mother and sister devastated. If you know Matt, you know just how much he does not deserve this situation. There is a reason why this guy doesn’t have an enemy in the world. We are desperate to get him returned home safely and in the quickest way possible. We recognize our goal is very ambitious, but is absolutely necessary considering the urgency of the situation, the bills already accrued, and the expense of the travel service.
