Save The Bean!

This is Foxy "Bean" Salazar. She is a spry 11 year old Miniature Pinscher and the source of happiness for a bunch of stressed college kids. Recently she has been feeling pretty down, and after two trips to the vet (which included prescriptions and examinations) we've discovered that she has Pneumonia. The Pneumonia, caused by a bacterial or fungal infection, has resulted in fluid to invade the space between her lungs and stomach, causing extensive breathing problems and the possibility of a lung collapse. The veterinarians believe the best course of action is to perform surgery to remove the fluid, and then put her on strong doses of medication. 

Surgery is an expensive procedure that unfortunately we can not afford out of pocket. The estimated cost for the procedure and medicine is upwards of $1100. The excess $400 will be used for the post procedure checkups, recovery period, and various types of medication. 

Foxy means the world to us. She is a spry little machine that just doesn't stop going. Every time somebody she loves walks into the room and she hasn't seen them for a few minutes she will start crying out of happiness. Even through the sickness, there's still a fight left in her, as her personality has remained virtually the same despite the illness, her curiosity and happiness for life has only been hindered in this tumultuous process. 

This is URGENT. Not only is the Bean in a lot of pain right now, but we aren't sure how long we have before the infection spreads or gets worse. We have her on some pain medicine and mild antibiotics right now but it isn't helping the serious problem. Every little bit helps.
