SAVE Lacee's life

Tax deductible

Most of the time SCLRR takes dogs knowing we can offer a happy ending… sometimes we take them because we are their last hope. We hope and pray and do whatever we can to make a difference.

Meet Lacee, a gorgeous two-year old yellow girl who has gotten herself in a lot of trouble. With a history of chewing things that aren’t good for her, last week Lacee’s owners noticed a change in her behavior and took her to the vet. Sadly, the family couldn’t afford x-rays or blood work, so the vet prescribed a bland diet and antibiotics.

Over the next few days, Lacee continued to be ill and wasn’t keeping food down. That’s when the vet feared that it might be a serious bowel obstruction and told the family to prepare for the worst. In their desperation, the family contacted SCLRR about releasing her, and getting her the medical care she needs.

Dropping everything to try and help, an SCLRR volunteer offered to meet them immediately.  After seeing our vet, we confirmed that she indeed has ingested a large rock.  Her stomach and intestines are inflamed, and she will have emergency exploratory surgery first thing tomorrow morning.

It is our greatest hope that we can save this girl, but the delay in her treatment (for at least a week) may present some major problems.

Will you help us get her the treatment she desperately needs? It’s only through the generous donations of friends like you that she will able to receive the care she desperately needs.  The initial estimate for her treatment is $2,500.00, but if we are able to save her the costs could be significantly more. We can’t promise a happy ending for Lacee, but we are committed to giving her our best.

In addition to helping Lacee, your donation today will make a bold statement that SCLRR should indeed take risks to save dogs with unknown outcomes and do what we can to ensure happy endings for every furry friend who deserves it.
