Save Koda’s Leg

Donation protected
Wednesday  night, around midnight all 3 dogs bolted out the back door.  Within 30 seconds of leaving the house, we started hearing the most horrendous, blood curdling yelping.  Bob ran out to find Koda laying on the ground.  At first we suspected his knee, we gave Tramadol and got him into the veterinarian on Thursday.  The veterinarian took X-rays and advised us that Koda had dislocated and broken his hock (ankle), the injury requires surgical intervention plate and pins and maybe ligament and tendon repairs.  He guessed the surgery to be about 5000-7000 dollars.  Koda, will also need follow up care, bandage changes etc... our veterinarian gave us a referral for an orthopedic surgeon, we see Dr Sikes, on Monday at 11:15.  They asked us to bring Koda in fasting.  I’m not sure if they would do surgery on Monday or why the fasting.  What I do know, is that we love Koda beyond words and that if we can’t come up with funds,  we will have to let them amputate his leg, as it is less expensive (1,500) approximately, or at the very worst, put him down.  Those of you that know us, know that I’m permanently disabled and Bob, is on long term disability due to a back injury that required surgery to his upper and lower back.  Any help, big or small would be much appreciated.  Please, help save Koda’s leg.
