San Diego needs KNSJ 89.1 FM,  back on the air. Ironically KNSJ fell victim to "climate disruption" and an erratic winter storm,  the worst ice storm in decades, which damaged the antenna  and took San Diego's only community radio station off the air.

Only YOU can help us recover!
- " People power radio" KNSJ 89.1 FM must depending on this people powered fundraising campaign to raise $4000 to $8000  to complete the necessary repairs and protect itself against future disruptions.

Always wanting to give back, KNSJ's selected donors will be receiving perks & premiums, including:

> For $24 you become an official listener member; with occasion perks during the year.
> For $35 get  VIP Seat for our next stellar speaker (Eg: KNSJ hosted had Amy Goodman and Chris Hedges)
> For $50, get a major theater, concert or cultural event tickets
> $100 donors receive an Echo 'Smart-speaker' for hands-free, easy listening KNSJ or any station music.
> $300 donors get an opportunity to go on the air and shape the content topic of the show.   So what's your passion?
> One donor will also be randomly selected to receive their very own one-off radio show. (This could start a relationship and a whole new show!)
> Other premiums will be allocated to the runner ups.

We & our programming are unique in San Diego:
KNSJ  is ever so proud to be the only local station broadcasting Democracy Now! with Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzales,  the only local station to broadcast Ralph Nader, AND the only station airing Native America Call-In,  Live from the reservations around the continent. In addition KNSJ  has more environmental shows  than any other station and... Thom Hartmann's  intelligent and insightful talk radio for 3 hours a-day.  PLUS KNSJ  features locally-produced  shows like East County Magazine with Award-winning journalist Miriam Raftery, Talk of the Town with former city attorney and activist lawyer Mike Aguirre, the Womens Hour, ...Social satire from comedian extraordinaire Chris Clauber's "Laugh in you face" .... and "Notes From the Underground"  with a team of witty cannabis activists.

KNSJ  has home-grown music shows,  features an eclectic mix of locally curated music  unlike any other starting at 8:00 p.m. nightly. We pledge to have more local music than all the rest of the local radio stations combined.

Unfortunately, recent storms in the Laguna mountains where the station’s antenna is located at 6200 ft., was hit with the worst ice storm in a quarter of a century, wrecking KNSJ's broadcast antenna.

“KNSJ ...We call ourselves ‘people powered radio’, and ‘a voice for the voiceless.’... So, it is most appropriate that we call on the community to help us raise the necessary funds to rebuild our storm damaged broadcast signal.”

Founded on July 4, 2013, KNSJ 89.1 FM and KNSJ.org is San Diego’s
premier listener-supported, nonprofit community radio station.  ...  But we depend on you especially at this time of need after being hit by a natural disaster... We call on you so that we can return to our mission of being a university of the air, to become NSJ "networkers for Social Justice". Please please donate now.
