Over Run with Medical bills, and No Income

John has had 2 heart attacks and has been unable to work for the past year. He tried to return to work several times but wasn't able to make it through even one work day, he may be well enough to return to work within a year, but there is no way to know for sure or put a date on it.
Meanwhile he doesn't have income. He has been denied Social Security on the first try and an appeal will be made, which will take longer to bring in even that income.
The stress of it all is sending John's diabetes spiraling out of control, increasing his risk of having another heart attack. He is in the process of filing a claim against his employer that could be resolved in the next 6 months or so, that will likely bring in some income at about that time.
Deb's income isn't enough to support them, even after eliminating non-essentials from the budget.
Their bank accounts are empty and their credit cards are maxed. Their landlords have been very reasonable, but that can't be expected to last indefinitely. Utilities are going past due.
John has been working steadily since the age of 14, with no negative marks from any employer. He raised three children of his own and hard work has never been a deterrent, this is simply a matter of unexpected illness. And at this point, getting a loan at is impossible.
In short, they are at the end of their rope.
Please help with whatever you can, every bit helps and even small amounts add up.
