Save WYAP-LP Radio in W Va

Non profit WYAP radio is located in the Appalachian Mountains of Clay County West Virginia . Our 101.7FM signal has been a major part of rural Appalachia for over 12 years. No other radio or TV station is in this rural county. For many, WYAP is the sole source of local information.
Over the years, the station has served as a training platform for at risk youth, those in the criminal court system in need of community service hours, and those receiving govt benefits in search of work training. YAP radio has also provided senior citizens with a place to try out their on air presence.
On June 23 , 2016, a major flood took out many homes and businesses of those that support YAP radio's effort to bring news, current events, music off the beaten path, and high school football, basketball, baseball and softball games.
With fewer residents in the area and businesses struggling to stay afloat, the community station's base of support has dwindled.
To stay on the air and serving our county, we need help in 2017. Even with a 100% volunteer staff , we have to pay broadcast royalties ($900), rent ($2400), utilties ($2000), insurance ($700) , and such.
This is our first effort to raise funds outside of the county. 101.7FM needs to raise $6000 to pay it's 2017 bills and continue our effort to provide a Voice in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia.
