Save baby Ezekiel Joseph Aguilar Fund

My wife of five years has a cousin (Kim) in the Philippines. She's married to a pastor in a remote region.. her husband is a pastor of a small Baptist church he planted there. They have a son (Ezekiel) who is 5 months old, and he has a hole in his heart. Tetralogy of Fallot is the medical terminology. Kim was told there was a surgery that had a chance of saving Ezekiel but the surgery was way beyond there means. In US dollars it would be about $1800.00 To be clear Kim has never asked us for money despite knowing my wife is working here in the States. I'm trying to raise $2500 for them to cover the surgery and to have money to travel on... They'll have to travel to Manila for the surgery, and traveling is expensive. Below I'm pasting from Kim's Facebook page, She can tell her story better than I. Here it is: "Your son has a hole in his heart and a growing aorta." Tetralogy of Fallot. That was the only thing that was clear to me while the doctor was explaining his medical condition. While she was explaining how he needs to be treated, I can't hold back my tears from crying. As first time parents, it really broke our hearts. He was too young for his sickness. EJ was an answer to our prayers. My prayers. We cried for 3 days. Questions came running to our minds like, "Why? have we not given him everything he needed? Where did we miss out as his parents? Is this the prize for being in the ministry? What now Lord? You know we can't pay the bills for his treatment." Yes. Those questions came out because our human side feel pain too. We get mad for the things we think we can't handle and are no possible solutions. But that still small voice, the Holy Spirit, comforted us with His words. Verses such as: 1 Cor. 10:13, Job 2:10, Rom. 8:28. I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for saving us and for putting us in the ministry. For without Him, we would probably feel hopeless and depress. And as we continued our devotions, God reminded us and made us realized the following: 1. We don't really own EJ. He was entrusted to us by the Lord and it is up to Him what He wants to do to our baby. His will is better than ours after all. We are just EJ's stewards. 2. And because we know God's plans are better than ours, we're definitely sure He will use EJ into something good, a vessel of testimony that will prove His power. 3. This problem is an opportunity to test and at the same time, by His grace, increase our faith. 4. If the Lord wills, we will be able to share this story to EJ --- how God has been and will always be good to our family especially to him. 5. The Lord's name will be lifted up and glorified whatever the result of the testing. Every day is a sure battle but as long as God is with us, we need nothing else. Now, we are not asking for the "Whys" but we are excited for the "Hows" --- the WORKING in these trying times. And we believe that He will protect, provide, and give a wonderful promise of future to our Ezekiel Joseph. All we need to do is to trust Him in the process. :)
