Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to stop by my GoFundMe page. My name is Chealse Sophia Howell and I am honoured to be 1 of 60 final delegates competing for this years Miss Universe Canada title . With becoming a national delegate I am also now a brand ambassador for the chairty Operation Smile.
My campaign's goal is to provide financial support to cover the costs of this life-changing surgery.
I want ot thank the Miss Universe Canada organization for opening the door formyself to become a brand ambassador for this charity, and I'm committed to reaching the goal of $2,400, which will help change the life's of 10 children.
About Operation Smile
Every three minutes a child is born with a cleft lip or cleft palate – and many families can't afford the surgery they desperately need. In many places, children with cleft conditions are abandoned or abused. Many times they have trouble eating and drinking and can struggle to survive. Those that do can face a lifetime of shame and torment, and they need our help.
Operation Smile is an international medical charity that has provided hundreds of thousands of free surgeries for children and young adults in developing countries who are born with cleft lip, cleft palate or other facial deformities. It is one of the oldest and largest volunteer-based organizations dedicated to improving the health and lives of children worldwide through access to surgical care. Since 1982, Operation Smile has developed expertise in mobilizing volunteer medical teams to conduct surgical missions in resource-poor environments while adhering to the highest standards of care and safety. Operation Smile helps to fill the gap in providing access to safe, well-timed surgeries by partnering with hospitals, governments and ministries of health, training local medical personnel, and donating much-needed supplies and equipment to surgical sites around the world. Founded and based in Virginia, U.S., Operation Smile has extended its global reach to more than 60 countries through its network of credentialed surgeons, pediatricians, doctors, nurses, and student volunteers.
At Miss Universe Canada we believe every child suffering from cleft lip or cleft palate deserves exceptional surgical care. Without surgery, 9 in 10 children born with a cleft condition could die. Your donation will change their lives forever!
