A child should never have to experience cancer.

Savannah is a happy 4-year-old firecracker who loves to play with her sister and friends, perform in plays and dances.  She is just a regular joyful "Sassy-pants".

This summer, Savannah was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor. The unthinkable became a new, sudden, and tragic reality.  There were numerous meetings with surgeons and oncologists from Boston's Children's Hospital.  The surgery lasted over 8 hours.  As you can well understand this was a trying time for her parents and family.  Heartbroken, everyone struggled to understand.

The surgery was successful, and during the next few weeks, she underwent a series of tests to determine if cancer had spread.  The cancer was identified as Clear Cell Sarcoma.  It was cancer familiar to the medical team and occurs far too often in young children.  Luckily it appeared to have not spread beyond the tumor itself.  Nonetheless, aggressive radiation and chemotherapy are recommended as a treatment.

Savannah has started her chemo/radiation treatment and she is a brave and strong little girl.  This will be a long and arduous journey that could take as much as a year and has a high cost in emotions, worry, and time.  Savannah and family thank you in advance for any help for all your positive thoughts and prayers.

          Thank you.
