Sergeant Sims Leukemia Fund
Donation protected
De'Aundrae Sims is a 29 year old Active duty Marine, E5 Sergeant in Portland, OR (Marine Forces Reserve, 6th engineer support BN. Swan Island). Born and raised in Mississippi and serving in Portland, OR for the past 3 years. Three of his younger brothers came with him. His mother passed away of Colon Cancer 10 years ago and he has become the father figure and a strong role model for his family.
He was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on Thursday, November 17th after going to the ER with severe stomach pain. Doctors quickly discovered his white blood cell count was over 380k, normal count is 10k. The pain was due to an extremely enlarged spleen (common symptom of blood cancer) . He had tests done and was diagnosed with AML. Chemo treatment had to begin right away at OHSU ICU. He will be at OHSU for at least the next month to get treatment and work to get healthy again.
De'Aundrae and Dominique have a 6 month old baby at home who is missing daddy everyday! He wants to fight this cancer for his three sons, Dominique, his brothers, Marine brothers and sisters, family and friends.
We as a family, appreciate any donations to help the family during these trying times. Please keep sending positive thoughts and prayers!
Thank you so much!
