Most nights, I just want to go out of my room, remove a can of sardines out of the pantry, and eat the contents, regardless of what time it is or if we had just eaten (my family and I sit down to eat dinner together). And it’s so hard. I don’t want to see the judging stare of my father, or the hurtful words my nother will say to me, invasively asking to know if I hadn’t eaten enough during dinner. I’m so tired of being judged for my eating habits, I’m so tired of being afraid to practice my own personal lifestyle of wanting to eat fish for dessert without the fear of being judged in my own home– a place where I’m supposed to feel safe in.
It’s not an “easy as one-two-three” to simply pack up and move out like what everyone else says. This is very hard for me, not even considering the dollar amount of living costs. Even though I have a strained relationship with my parents, they aren’t always bad 100% of the time, which most people don’t realize. And that love-hate relationship makes the situation so much more complex.
Your donations will help me move out of this emotionally draining environment, as well as costs to supply myself with more cans of sardines, and other cans of fish (I also enjoy mackerel on occasion). I am currently looking for a job to provide me with proof of income so that I may rent a home for myself and my 4-month old kitten Bennett. Any money we get from here will help us tremendously, as paying for rent isn’t a one-time thing, and paying for sardine cans isn’t either.
