Clipper Race - the Mighty Pacific!

Hi everyone!
I began this page over a year ago with the goal of raising funds to participate in the 5th Leg of the Clipper Race, from Australia to China! I have worked hard and spent my savings to make it work and I extend a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me so far!
Since seeing my team - HotelPlanner.com - and the fleet depart from Liverpool in August, I had a new crazy idea.... I want to also sign up for Leg 6, the Mighty Pacific Leg, that will take me from China to Seattle, USA!
If you know me, you know that I am passionate about reducing my negative impact on the planet and I try hard to reduce my carbon footprint in particular. Flying is a particularly bad culprit and I have been guilty of doing it a lot. Therefore, my goal isto get from New Zealand, where I will begin my travels, to Eastern Canada, where I hope to begin my new job - WITHOUT FLYING. That's a lot of water and a lot of land to cover without taking a plane but I can do it - with YOUR help!
I want to show that it is possible to have a small carbon footprint and still travel and enjoy life! I had never sailed before, so this is a challenge like no other, but with the support of the training skippers and mates, my fellow Clipper trainees and, since May, my teammates, I feel like I can tackle it and come out stronger on the other side.
I've been holding special fundraising events regularly such as the Three Peak Challenge, and the Instrument Challenge and will continue to do so! I welcome donations of any amount, big or small, from £10 to the whole £6000 (berth and insurance) if you’re feeling uber generous (just throwing it out there…) – every bit helps, just click the donate button!
