Sarah Ginn's Double Hip Surgeries

Our son, Matt, and daughter-in-law Sarah, have lived in Sanibel, FL since 2013. Over a year ago, Sarah (age 35 now) began having progressively worsening hip pain in both hips, and then stiffening, to the point where she had to quit her job. Doctors in Florida recommended hip replacements. She and Matt decided to move to Nashville where we live to seek medical attention and family support.  They moved in with us last November 1st, and Matt found a job right away. Through some miraculous turns of events, they met the premier hip replacement specialist in Nashville and Sarah underwent her first hip surgery January 25. I watched in amazement as just 90 minutes after that surgery brave Sarah climbed a long set of stairs on her new hip! Healing was tough, but Sarah was tougher, as she faithfully went to PT to strengthen her now "good" leg so it would be strong for the second surgery.  On March 25 - 8 weeks after the first one - the second hip replacement was accomplished. I've been so amazed and impressed at Sarah's tenacity of grit and faith and cheerfulness through this whole long ordeal. And watching Matt care for her and keep his own spirits up in the face of the unknown has been inspiring! 

However, this rough patch for them has come at a cost. Their savings had been hit pretty hard through the year before when Sarah was not able to work, and then came moving expenses and surgery out-of-pocket expenses. The funds raised on this page will go toward paying those surgery expenses that were not covered by their insurance. Since both surgeries are now complete, the bills are rolling in. They do not know I am doing this and would never ask for themselves, so I am asking for them. Everybody needs a little help now and then!
