This past Sunday, the world of Sara Canas’ family was turned upside down. At 33, she passed away suddenly.
To anyone who knew Sara, she was a bright light, a beautiful soul, a force, who loved art and music and life, but above all, she adored her family, especially her husband, Dave, and their two children, Simon, 7, and Petra, 5.
Among many things, Sara was a visual artist, a person who saw the world in big bold colors, and she didn’t hesitate to bring that perception to her two children; she loved painting with them, bringing light and life into a space.
And that was Sara. Light and life.
Those who knew her talk endlessly and fiercely about her generosity of spirit, her empathy and kindness, her good-will and good nature: “She was so full of life…she was kindness…a light…a love…the sweetest…the embodiment of warmth…a great person...”
All that and so much more will be missed. Deeply. Intensely. Always.
For us here, we are left with a void, a gaping hole, wondering how and why and what we can do. Sara leaves behind a husband, two children, a mother and father, siblings, family, and friends. At this time, her family will need help and support not just emotionally but financially.
