Mi nombre es Samuel Díaz, estudiante de Estudios Liberales en la Universidad Metropolitana en Venezuela.
Este año he tenido el honor de ser invitado a la 8va edición de Plan País, que se llevará a cabo el 30 y el 31 de Marzo en Boston University, para ser panelista en un foro que tiene como temática el rol de la diaspora venezolana desde la perspectiva de aquellos jovenes que aún residimos en Venezuela.
En dicho espacio quiero enfocarme en las oportunidades y las distintas maneras para apoyarnos, trabajar en conjunto e impulsar proyectos que tenemos los venezolanos que estamos alrededor del mundo y dentro de Venezuela. Es decir, como podemos tener impacto a nivel internacional y nacional. Ejemplo de ello, apoyar inciciativas como "Nutriendo El Futuro", comedores comunitarios en El Hatillo basado en el modelo de Alimenta La Solidaridad implementado en el municipio Libertador.
Este espacio es de suma importancia porque la situación actual de Venezuela, así como la distancia física de muchos de nuestros participantes con Venezuela, representan algunos de nuestros desafíos. Sin embargo, la promoción de la conciencia cívica y social permite a estos estudiantes beneficiarse de las ideas innovadoras que nacen durante los dos días de debate. Unir a la diáspora de jóvenes venezolanos con el objetivo común de educarse para que puedan convertirse en ciudadanos informados, nos permite canalizar estos pensamientos y convertirnos en una sociedad con las herramientas necesarias para un cambio.
No obstante, debido a la situación económica de nuestro país no puedo adquirir los pasajes para poder asistir al evento, es por ello que estoy iniciando esta campaña para poder llegar a Boston por 4 días donde los gastos de comida y hospedaje ya están cubiertos y así poder compartir mis experiencias y ser un enlace entre los venezolanos que estan en el exterior y los que estamos en el país. Es por ello que una vez lograda la meta, el dinero irá al equipo organizador de Plan País para que puedan comprar el pasaje.
Al final del día, Venezuela no es un territorio geografico; Venezuela es su gente. Porque sin importar donde estemos, casa siempre tendremos una sola y con Plan País buscamos los puntos de conexión para no tener que mejorar a Venezuela cuando volvamos si no desde ahorita, son este tipo de iniciativas que permite conectarnos y demostrar que somos varios que queremos mejorar nuestro pais que todavía hay talento de sobra en Venezuela, que somos la generación que está destinida a sentar las bases para que Venezuela no sea un país de despedidas si no que sea una nación de bienvenidas.

My name is Samuel Díaz, a student of Liberal Studies at the Universidad Metropolitana in Venezuela.
This year I had the honor of being invited to the 8th edition of Plan País, to be held in Boston University between March 30th and March 31st, to be a panelist in a forum whose theme is the role of the Venezuelan diaspora from the perspective of those young people who still reside in Venezuela.
In this space I want to focus on the opportunities and the different ways to support us, work together and promote projects that we Venezuelans have around the world and within Venezuela. That is, how can we have an impact at an international and national level. An example of this, to support initiatives such as "Nutriendo El Futuro", community kitchens in El Hatillo based on the model of Alimenta La Solidaridad implemented in the Libertador municipality.
This space is very important because the current situation in Venezuela, as well as the physical distance of many of our participants with Venezuela, represent some of our challenges. However, the promotion of civic and social awareness allows these students to benefit from the innovative ideas that are born during the two days of debate. Uniting the diaspora of young Venezuelans with the common goal of educating themselves so that they can become informed citizens allows us to channel these thoughts and become a society with the necessary tools for a change.
However, due to the economic situation of our country I can not buy the tickets to attend the event, that is why I am starting this campaign to reach Boston for 4 days where food and lodging expenses are already covered and so on to share my experiences and be one link between Venezuelans who are abroad and those of us in the country. That is why the funds will go directly to the organizing team of Plan Pais so they can buy the plane ticket!
At the end of the day, Venezuela is not a geographical territory; Venezuela is its people. Because no matter where we are, we will always have one house and with Plan País we look for the connection points so that we do not have to improve Venezuela when we return, but this type of initiatives allows us to connect and show that we are several that we want to improve our country that there is still plenty of talent in Venezuela, that we are the generation that is destined to lay the foundations so that Venezuela is not a country of farewells if it is not a nation of welcome.
