Sampson’s knee surgery

Donation protected
Hi everyone! We got Sampson when he was just six weeks old from a rescue.  We got him during a time that I was suffering from extreme anxiety in which he has helped and continues to help tremendously. He is my number one and my pride and joy.

He is an eight month old spunky pup who loves to run, jump, and most importantly play keep away. We recently rescued his little (but bigger) brother pistol. Both are lab/hound mix. They both love to wrestle, play, and chase one another constantly.

Unfortuntely, this past Friday 9/7 Sampson’s left hind leg went limp and was in a lot of pain. We took him to the Emergency Vet and X-rays have shown a torn ligament. Our veteranarian today told us it could also include a second ligament and his knee cap. We were referred to an orthopedic surgeon. An Orthopedic surgeons consult is $200-300. The TPLO surgery itself starts at $3500. $500 has already been spent on X-rays and anti-inflammatory medications.

I have planned for just one ligament surgery but not two. I just want my spunky, fun, loving puppy to run and play normally with four legs and without any pain.

For now, we have to limit play with his little brother and have him rest his knee. He only walks with three legs. We have to try to keep him off it for long periods as he could blow the other knee as well.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this and every little bit helps! I promise you that. Sampson will be forever grateful to live a life with a normal knee.
