Sampson's Double Knee Replacement

Donation protected
Hello All!

Most of you know that Sampson is mine and Josh's world. We love this dog more than anything, and folks that know us may say we spoil him a little too much! But that's okay with us. We would give him the world if we could.

His 3rd birthday is rolling around the corner in April, and as surgery is needed for both knees....I'd like to get him to a pain free state as his birthday present. My birthday is in March and I would like nothing more than to see my sweet boy walking without a limp. But I need your help....

For a single knee surgery, the base cost is approximately $1,500....and we need two. Plus the cost of x-rays and medication. When it rains it pours.....while planning a wedding, buying plane tickets to see my wonderful fiance' Josh, getting a new car, student loans, and general living costs are building up--this will bear burden on our new little family. We want to do what is right and what is best for our big guy, any way we know how!!!

His right ACL has had a slight tear in it for approximately one month. We have been on anti-inflammatory drugs ever since the diagnosis, which were helping tremendously! However, he gets very excited when mom comes home and likes to jump on his Aunt Emily's bed to see when I will be precisely walking in the door. Unfortunately, the strength he had in his left leg to compensate for the right ACL tear gave out. His left ACL is now completely torn and with the right ACL in poor condition, he cannot support himself. He is able to take MAXIMUM 2 steps and then has to sit down. Even his few steps that he can take are basically him using all of his upper body strength to drag his back legs forward. After a 5 hour emergency vet visit we were given some temporary pain medication and advice. To get him up, we have to manuever a towel under his hind grions and hoist the back end of his body up. Due to the severity of his pain, he is having a hard time getting to his food and water bowl. He needs double knee replacements but they can only be done one at a time. Right now I am asking for many prayers for the wellbeing of my baby. We have a very long journey ahead of us. We will be starting our new life with his dad, Josh, in June as we are getting married and moving to wherever the Air Force feels we are needed! I would love nothing more than for Sampson to have an exciting, pain-free journey with us.

Please share!!!! Help is needed and you are all so appreciated!
