Sam and Zulis Kung Fu journey

Donation protected
Hi i'm Sam. My friend Zuli and I are trying to raise enough money to go to Orlando Florida for a big Kung Fu tournament (ICMAC). I have been training for 4 years and have helped out with the kids classes for about 3 years. I'm currently a red belt. 2 times a week I help the kids with their basic stances and occasionally get the class warmed up. Zuli has been training for 7 years and has been assisting for about 4 years. She is currently a black belt. 2 times a week she helps the kids with their listening skills and their endurance, she also helps them with their stances and forms. We train at YMAA Boston and have done a few local tournaments. We have worked hard, and we now believe that we're ready to travel south for this tournament. The reason we're putting this Go Fund Me up is to help pay for airfare, tournament registration food, and transportation while we're there. The goal of this trip is to help us with preforming, to represent our school, and most of all to learn and grow our love for Chinese Martial Arts. We can then bring that knowledge and enthusiasm back to our community to share with the kids who might want to do a tournament in the future. Zuli and I both really want to do this tournament, and we think it would be a great experience all around. We're trying to raise the funds by June 1st. A little about me (Sam). I'm 14, I live in Roslindale with my Mom, my Dad, and my sister. I'm home-schooled, and my favorite subject is math. I'm rather shy and awkward but once you get to know me I'm quite fun to hang out with. I enjoy listening to music and photography, and of course doing Kung Fu. The greatest lesson that I have learned from Kung Fu, Is to always push myself to get better at one thing and not just learn it and move on to the next thing after I've learned it. There is always room for improvement. A little about me (Zuli). I'm 17, I live in Roslindale with my Mom, my Dad, my brothers, and my sister. My love for Kung Fu has only grown since I started teaching. I go to Margarita Muñiz Academy, and my favorite subject is Chemistry. I'm a friendly, caring, and outgoing person. I enjoy spending time with my family and watching football. The greatest lesson that I have learned from Kung Fu, Is that to get better you have to keep practicing and pushing yourself. Things might be hard when you first start learning but if you put your all into it, anything is possible. It has also taught me a lot about patience with myself, and since I started coaching I've learned that you have to be extremely patient with others. It has also taught me that not everyone learns at the same pace and that sometimes you have to approach people differently. That's our story. We will keep everyone updated every step of the way.
