Saltys Double Lung Transplant

Ok so I buckled and made an account... Anyone who knows me will know that this was hard for me to do... But I'm asking for help. Here's my story :)

My name is Danielle "Salty". I am living and fighting to breath with cystic fibrosis. I have been very fortunate to live 31 years on this earth with my original pair of lungs. However the last year in a half has been a testament of strength for myself and my family who has helped support me and keep me well. I have been going through the process of pre-approval evaluations because my lungs are just getting to the point of not recovering from infections anymore and my oxygen stats are chronically low.  My doctor's, family and I have decided that a double lung transplant is the best option for survival and I have been JUST officially approved to be listed for a double lung transplant.  Thankfully I have very good insurance at the moment that will cover some large expenses of the actually surgery BUT co-pays alone over the last year have been insane and I've been able to stay afloat with help from my family but there is so much more to come.. some of the expenses include relocation costs, traveling fees, pulmonary rehab, oxygen tanks (not covered by insurance- don't get me started! Haha) , and post transplant medications. Transplant is NOT a cure for cf, but it's the best option right now and it's going to be an uphill battle.. but im asking for help so I can relieve some of the financial burden on my family and I during this time so we can focus on living and breathing one day at a time... Hopefully with a new pair of lungs soon!!
