The last three and a half years have been the most challenging of my life. I don't take anything for granted anymore that I can do physically - even the little things like carrying a water bottle to typing on a computer to walking through a grocery store.
After nine, long years of visiting various doctors, and my body hitting rock bottom in the Fall of 2011, it's finally healing with a correct diagnosis and is happily on the way to being healthy and in form. I am looking forward to sharing my story and what I've learned in the hopes it will help others who are experiencing a similar condition, once I'm back to square one in life.
While trying to find out what was happening to my body and why it just wasn't able to function, I wasn't able to work for over two years and then, when I was finally able to start working, it was on a very part-time basis. As a single parent raising my daughter and providing what we needed to live, I tapped all my personal and business financial reserves. At that time it was the right thing to do. Unfortunately, my decision to use those business reserves ended up creating another problem. In tapping my business reserves, it has left my business in a precarious position.
So, this crowdfunder serves a duo purpose as I am asking for help so I can continue to help my body heal, as well as help me to re-establish my business now that I am able to work again so that I can once again fully support myself.
I have been self-employed for over 23 years. The main purpose of my business is to help honest and reliable businesses become more well-known and to grow through promotion and advertising, with a business directory that I publish annually and an online magazine. I also use my skills and publications to help social betterment groups and charities. I have given a lot back to my community through donated time, advertising and graphic design along with my active involvement in charity work over the years. I have direct-mailed my publications out to subscribers and the community over the years for free. It is important to our community that these publications continue for the service they provide to the businesses and the readers as well as helping honest and reliable businesses prosper.
I have never been a person to ask for the kind of help I am now asking for by doing this crowdfunder. I have always tried to do it all myself and make it come out right. I have finally gotten to a point where I realize I need the help that kind-hearted and understanding people are willing to give.
The money from this crowd funder will be used to help me continue to get the help I need to continue improving the overall health of my body, to reduce stress by handling some pressing bills as well as to get my business fully operational again - and once again helping the businesses that we all like to work with - the honest & reliable ones. A side benefit of this is it will give a tremendous lift to my spiritual side.
I truly appreciate any help you are willing to provide toward my goal!
