Safe Karamo

There is a lovely fairy tale about horses: when a horse is born, it gets a box. Everytime it recieves a loving and caring touch one bubble goes into that box. When it's time and the horse leaves this world the box will be checked. There are horses without even one bubble and they are released to the fields. Other horses have their boxes bersting full of bubbles and they will be asked if they want to go home again.
My first own horse was Karamo. I got him for training purposes but his owner told me she was too scared of him and I should sell him. I told her I fell in love with him and would buy him.
Because of him I didn't follow my dream to move to Ireland but ended up in Portugal. Soon I got a second horse as company for him. Both were stallions and our little boy grew and playing too hard killed Karamo.
Years later my husband found a horse in a sad state and saw something in him. It was a long way until he did trust people and stopped defending himself, stopped biting, kicking. He moved in with other horses for the first time in his life, he could relax around people, he grew into a free horse with so much love for his new life and his new mommy. Over the months the horse changed so much not only mentally but physically - he changed his color, his body, his face... he turned more and more into a copy of my Karamo. His breeding date is more or less the same as Karamos dying date. I feel that Karamo came back to me!
Now the reason why I ask your help. Almost two weeks ago Karamo II was playing with another horse, he got hit in his neck. His trachea has a rupture and his esophagus is collapsed and does not open for him to swallow food. He is propably dying. We did everything we could and he is currently in Portugals best equine clinic. The costs are over 1.500,00 € in 3 days and we must give him at least the chance to fight an infection and see if his gulp reflex returns in the next days. This will more than double the bill including the bill from our home vet. We simply can't afford it.
Must we lose another Karamo to the same fate as we did lose my first Karamo, my soul horse?
Please help us. The chances are close to none. We have a small riding business with almost only rescue horses. We believe that rescue horses need the chance of a happy life without fear of people, with confidence in people and a relaxed future.
I didn't work for a few weeks now, we have 3 kids to feed and lots of animals.

Karamo didn't make it. His body rejected the medication and fluids. Friday morning he asked me to bring him home. We were at his side when he took his last breath in the evening of the 1st of March. Now he will be one with the place he found happiness and his family.

The horse is gone, the bill is still to pay. We thank you so much for everything you can afford. Even 2 bags of NaCl for 12€ will help us so much!
