Friends and family, I have found myself at a place in life where I need to reach out for help from those I love. I have fallen in love with a man who lives 5,000 miles and $1,200 away- a feat that seems nearly impossible with the wages I make. Here is where the help that I desperately need comes in.
I’m asking that anyone donate anything that they can so that I can buy a plane ticket to England to see him in October. “October, you say? That’s six months away!” Well, I’m glad you brought that up. With the way airline prices work, it can get exponentially more expensive with each passing day, hence me asking for money for the plane ticket so early. The $1,200 will go toward the ticket only, and all who donate will be generously rewarded (see the thank you section below). Any money received after my $1,200 is reached will be applied to any pre-trip costs such as transportation. Rob and my plan is for him to come here in early July, stay until his 90-day visa expires in October, and the two of us fly to England together for his birthday where we will hopefully spend some time in Scotland, Netherlands, and Germany as well. Since my birthday falls between now and the time I will be departing, I ask that you consider donating to this cause in lieu of a birthday gift.
Now comes the thank you section; the fun part! Every single person who donates will get a small appreciation from me. Check them out!
$1-$20- A hug lasting more than 20 seconds (with plenty of ‘thank yous’ uttered by me!), a two-minute scalp massage (go on- make me touch your head!), or a song of your choosing sung by yours truly (in-tune is questionable).
$21-$30- A handwritten postcard from a country of your choosing, or a couple of English chocolate bars.
$31-$50- I will come to your house and cook you a meal (have I mentioned that I cook a mean breakfast?!)
$51-$75- I will bring you back a thoughtful gift from any one of the countries I visit (that ridiculously huge beer stein from Germany you’ve always wanted? That could be yours!)
$76-$100- Gets you a gift from any one of the countries I visit as well as a home-cooked meal prepared by me.
$101+- This is where you get to put me to work! I will pick up poo, wash out the mildew/mold around the tub, scrub the scum out of your toilet, dust your apartment/house, etc. You know; the jobs that keep getting put off because they’re icky. Watch me sweat and do hard labor!
All of the above items are certainly negotiable to some degree and I have no qualms with personalizing to each specific person’s tastes within reason of course!
