Hello! My name is Tamoy Stewart and I am an International student from Jamaica who attends Community College of Philadelphia with a major in Culinary Arts aspiring to be a Professional Chef and Nutritionist.

Since the beginning of my collegiate educational endeavours in 2016, I have come across a myriad of difficulties and had to find a way to draw from a source of persistence, resilience and determination.

On sharing my story, I hope to gain financial assistance, no matter how big or small.

Before I attended Community College of Philadelphia, I was attending Drexel University in my freshman year.

However, as the term was midway through, I allowed my worries to get the best of me. I would spend more time online trying to figure out ways to pay for school, applying for any scholarship I could get my hands on and calculating long term costs of attending university rather than on studying.

I knew something had to be done.

Although my life did not turn out as planned, transfering to Community College of Philadelphia was one of the best decisions i've ever made because it gave me peace of mind and I was able to fully concentrate on my academics.

I was also invited to join the Honors Program. However, I fear I am unable to take advantage of the opportunities that came with this invitation because of the financial constraints in my present and near future.

I would really love to take advantage of any opportunity that comes my way and I refuse to allow my finances to hold me back from attaining my goals.

I learnt that your mind is a powerful tool that, when met with action, will be the catalyst for all your achievements.

This is why I am taking this step to write to you all, requesting for help with paying my tuition in any amount possible.

I am extremely grateful for any amount you are able to donate and I will never forget the help I have been given as this experience is one that instills within me humility and unending gratitude.
