Help me bring my Dad home

Yesterday I lost my Dad.
Hard enough for anyone, I'm sure you'll agree. But so much more heartbreaking when there are 200 miles between you.
My name is Sam. I'm 38 years old and registered disabled, I need a wheelchair to get around. My husband is my full time carer. We don't have a car, and survive on benefits.
My Dad moved to Lynemouth a few years ago, to be near my older sister, but their relationship has long since soured, and she has had no contact with him for 18 months. I on the other hand adore my Dad, despite his tendency towards making mistakes. I ring him every few days, and we chat and laugh. Or at least we did.
His health has been declining for a while now, to the point where he hardly left his flat and had very little human contact, save for my calls. Being alone up there, with nothing but time to think, his mortality and how I would cope with his passing had bren on his mind a great deal.
We have spoken many times about his wishes over the past month.
He wants to go back to where he was happiest in his life, where he grew up, where his own parents are resting, Portsmouth, Hampshire.
I so very much want to honor this.
But before I can, I need to get to him, which is where, dear reader, I need to ask for your help.
I need to travel, with my husband, by train to Newcastle, from where we live in Ellesmere Port, before a network of buses can get us to where my beloved Dad is waiting to be taken home.
Once my husband and I have taken care of his things, we will bring his ashes back to Ellesmere Port, so that the friends who have missed him so much since he moved away may say good bye. Then, we will continue our pilgrimage South, my husband's sister having generously offered to drive us down to Hampshire, where me Dad will finally be put to rest.
