Jasmine's 8th gr trip to Kauai

Jasmine is traveling to Kauai with her eighth grade Waldorf school class as a culmination of their many years together on May 4-14, 2015.
In Waldorf schools, this is a rite of passage type event as it marks the end of their elementary and middle school journey together. The Waldorf classes travel together with the same teacher and students from grade one! As you can imagine, this creates quite a family expereince!
The Kauai trip will be to a 13 acre cacao farm where they make chocolate! The plantation also has goats, chickens and many tropical fruits to harvest and explore. The children will be learnng about native Hawaiian culture, giving back to the community by helping to plant trees, and other tasks on the plantation, learning to make chocolate from the cacao seeds, snorkeling, overcoming fear and creating self confidence with FIRST TIME surf lessons and exploring the magic and wonder of this ancient volcanic land.
We have already paid for her plane ticket to get there and my plane ticket to chaperone....
We now need the remaining funds to cover food and transportation on the island!
I am going along with 4 other chaperones to assist in the daily activities with the children. I will be shopping for, planning and making the meals (with some help of course!) for 25 people for 10 days! I plan on exploring and harvesting the local, wild and cultivated foods to incorporate into our meals---- expanding the children's tastes and experiences!
I am honored to serve the children in this way.
I have already spent many hours already fundraising for the expenses for the whole class and this is the last of the personal funds we need to make this happen!
