See that woman in the photo? She's a warrior. She is a wife, a mom and a worker bee. If you know Lauren, then you know what I mean by "worker bee". She is always on the move, rather shes working or chasing her boys.
Four years ago, Lauren began experiencing symptoms of what would later be diagnosed as Cavernous Malformation. The first of many seizures occurred late at night while sleeping, waking her husband and sending the family to the emergency room. She was told she had a small bleed in her brain, but doctors were unsure of what caused it.
Lauren was placed on medication to combat the frequent seizures, but they seemed to become more frequent and varied in severity, putting the health of her second son in danger during pregnancy.
The seizures soon began to occur daily, often times striking multiple times a day, affecting her work life and worrying her family more and more. Desperate for answers, Lauren began to seek the opinions of other doctors in the field.
In August, Lauren was formally diagnosed with Cavernous Malformation, a very rare brain disorder - a condition in which little research has been done and few doctors are familiar with. On September 14th, Lauren will undergo a four hour brain surgery in an attempt to find the exact cause and location of the bleed and put an end to this life-changing condition affecting her.
The funds raised here will go towards Lauren's medical bills for this procedure, and will help support her family while she is recovering. Following recovery, Lauren plans to become heavily involved in research for Cavernous Malformation and bring attention to this devastating and rare disorder.
If you are not able to donate funds but feel compelled to help, we ask that you simply pray. Pray for Lauren and her family. Pray for wisdom and diligence for her doctors. Pray for healing.
