We are Fernando Velez and Waiyen Wong. Waiyen's family lives in Barquisimeto a small city in Venezuela where the crisis have worsen by the day. We have seen everything in the news about what is happening, but it is different when you have friends and family living in that situation. Waiyen's uncle is very ill and with no medication and high cost for nutrition we have come to accept that is not going to get better.

Venezuela doesn't accept international help, boxes of food and items take months to arrive and that if we are lucky that no one open the boxes. Lucky for us we have been able to help the family thanks to our contacts here in the US and in Venezuela. We often send money to our family, but as the crisis intensify Waiyen's family shares what we give them because how can you live when your neighbor is suffering. The two of us alone can't help everyone but together, us as humans being, can help one another.

Right now you can't send money to Venezuela, you must need a contact here in the US and there. For example, we know few people that own business there and here. Because they can't move their money from there to the US. We deposit money into their US account and they give us the exchange over there so, in reality, the money doesn't leave either of the two countries. This has helped us send money and a lot of people are doing that but not enough to help much more people.

This is where we come in, we are asking friends and family to share whatever they can. One US dollar can go a long way.

Just the other day we almost got robbed in long beach, in what we believe is a nice and safe neighborhood. The feeling we had of thinking you will get shot, you won't make it back, we look at each other while running away and said "I love you" thinking and waiting for the gun shot that will end our lives. (but thanks that nothing happened) Well, this was nothing compared to what our brothers and sister are going through in Venezuela. We know what is not to have money to buy food as we struggled when we were young but thanks to our friends we never starved, they helped us till we got on our feet. But the Venezuelan people who they have if all their friends and family are going through the same? Well, they have us, and as long as we get to live another day we will do everything we can to help them, that's our commitment and purpose.

We are not an official non-profit as for that we will need to spend $700 to open one and takes time, we are a gay couple that wants to stand up for whats right and don't look the other way when crisis affect other people. We can't help the whole world at once, but we can encourage other young people to pick an issue and fight for them. All of us together can make this world a better one for all.

I am asking you for donation as small as a dollar can help. We believe everyone can be a hero, we don't need to be there, or be rich and comfortable to be able to donate, to be able to be someone's hero.

We visited Venezuela almost two years ago when things weren't as bad as they are now. And our trip to visit family turned into everyday doctor visits, making long lines and gather everyone to be able to share the food we were able to find. Something that amazes me was that no matter how the government wants to bring people apart they still hold onto one another to survive this crisis.

If you don't have money to donate, but you have a secure contact to send stuff to Venezuela, (we are still taking the risk and sending boxes and so far they are arriving). Or if you have antibiotics and other unused medications that can be of help contact us and we can give you an address of where to send them we will gather them and mixed with other important items that they need and send them in small boxes to the hospital where we have been in contact with. If you're in Miami area and you wish to put together your own box and send it, we can send you the contact all you have to do is drop the boxes at the delivery place and we will cover the price of the shipment.

Venezuela needs you right now, those kids crying of hunger can be your kids, that person dying ill because no medicine can happen to your family, what would you do for people you love if they were their situation.

Sorry that our English is not that well, thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your donation, just $10 dollars can bring food to a family for at least a week.

Minimum salary is $13 USD with prices of food so high, and losing jobs every day as inflation rises their minimum wage can't be enough to put a decent plate on their table.

All we need to do is skip a good meal out in the name of someone in need if we don't go out to eat once a week and save those 20/30$ that will cost you one meal you can give the meal to a family for at least two weeks. If we sacrifice two Starbucks coffee a week, we can feed a family for one week. We as humans have an amazing power if we come together, today for them, tomorrow might be us who.

To make clear how are we going to do this. My family lives there, in Barquisimeto. My mom and sister will help with this funds to provide food for neighbors and friends who are in desperate need prioritizing families with kids. They will cook food on the weekends and take it to the street where people are eating out of trash. Also, we will take food items to an orphanage in Barquisimeto.

The way we send this funds is that we know someone who owns a business in Barquisimeto and has kids in the US. They can't send money to their kids from Venezuela has they have no access to US dollars. What we do is, we deposit the money to his kids in the US and they transfer to our family account in Venezuela the equivalent amount in bolivares. This funds will only be used to help those in needs for food items and medicine. We will send pictures with updates to show you the impact that your donation will have. With the inflation, the dollar can go a long way. Also one of our friends works at a hospital in Caracas, we are going to ship boxes(Deliver by Cargas Venezuela in Miami) with medicines and other items to her and she will be taking it to the hospital where kids will be the primary beneficiates. We had sent few boxes before and they take about a month to arrive but they do arrive. If you have items that you will like to send let us know so Cargas Venezuela can receive your box on our behave that way we pay for the delivery to Venezuela. Just have in mind that items ship to Venezuela might take around one month so only include Items that won't get back in that period of time.

Thank you for joining a humanitarian cause.

Thank you,
That’s the first word that comes to our mind. But those words are not enough to express the immense gratitude we have towards you, the people who enable us to make change, to bring hope, to alleviate other human beings struggles. People like you that care for others, is what inspire us and move us to find ways to help those in need. To find ways to give chances and possibilities to others, as only like this, we can build strong individuals to become like you, like us.

When you look at these pictures, you will see what we can do together if more can join us, more change can happen; This could’ve been your uncle, your father, your friend or your loved one. But it is a stranger, that you had shown love and cared for, and that's the true human spirit, is love, is compassion. No matter where you are from, who you love, what you believe, we are doing this because we believe in humankind; because we love our race and those who might not be identical to us.

Thanks to your compassion, we have started to give to single mother families, people with disabilities, and elderlies, food packages with essentials as: oil, milk, rice, toilet papers, and other food items. These families a lot of them with kids, say that quite often they go without food for a day or two. We are also helping with medical financial aid, and helping people with special needs with items they can’t afford like crutches and medicines. With your donations we had also send boxes with deodorants, bar soap, shampoo, With your kindness, we have fed so far over 100 people this last weekend. We are continuing this support as long as there is funds. Kraven Foundation volunteers and family went in the city to find homeless, ill people, and even kids which were eating from the trash. These people saw hope when we presented them with juices and their traditional arepas to full their tummies. We started with 3 volunteers, and now we have over 10 volunteer wearing our Kraven shirts and excited to help others. You, we, have motivated other humans to wake up to the call of coming together. This is just one step, and it was possible thanks to you and thanks to our family and volunteers in Venezuela.

But this is not going to end here or stay like this. We have seen we have the power to bring people together, to change their situation, to attract kindness and bring light into their darkness days. With this actions we are moving hearts, hearts that are opening to possibilities, hearts that heal and now follow our movement because this is what we are, not just a charity organization but a movement, to empower individuals to be the best version of themselves. To fight for human rights, to connect with one another putting aside our differences.

We have many projects that we are going to be working on. In the next few months, we are structuring Kraven Foundation (opening the formal non-profit in the next few days) which will be part of Kraven Society a Non-Governmental Organization that will aim to empower and work for what are basic human needs and rights. We will present more details in the near future now let’s focus on one. Venezuela. We are researching to make fine handmade bracelets to create jobs, we are making hats and shirts also. The income generated from this will go back to the community where those profits belong to, to the people of Venezuela. Like this, we don’t need constant donations as it will bring a steady income to keep helping communities in Venezuela while finding new ways to create sustainability projects and strengthening the communities that has been affected by this crises.

We believe that only together we can thrive, so what are we waiting for, join us. Donate or share it, or connect us with people, share ideas, point to an issue that needs help. Let’s be part of an international movement that shares same values, one community with no border, citizens of the world.

Check out the pictures from people you all have helped and hearts touched. (We have more pictures, but GoFundMe only let us upload 3 at a time. We will keep you updated in what we do next.

Remember, everyone can be a hero.

Hello everyone,
We want to thank everyone who supported our cause from the US and Hong Kong, together we are stronger.
I want to thank you all and also give you an update about your donations.
We waited a month expecting the dollar value to rise to double digits before it falls back low again in Venezuela. This day was today when it reached 42,000bs versus last month that was 18,000bs. This means that instead of sending 21,600,000bs we are sending now 50,400,000bs which is over 200 minimum wage salaries.
Phase one:
What are we doing with the cash donations?
We are hiring people to cook and distribute food packages to poor families. Our priorities are families with kids, people with disabilities, elderlies and single mothers.
We are also delivering food to people that are currently searching in the trash for food waste to eat.
This is inhumane, and we can't turn a blind eye on it; this is what motivated us in the first place to start this campaign.
While we are picky at home with the taste of food, people are eating from the trash in poor countries. Inflation in Venezuela is so high that prices go up every day and their money goes down in value.
In another note, Fernando and I, have been collecting clothes donated from friends and family. We will be sending about 5 boxes of clothes, together with toothpaste and other items that are hard to find in Venezuela. These boxes will be shipped from Miami using a secure contact on Nov 10. The clothes will be distributed in orphanages, hospitals, mental hospitals to kids and families that have been more affected by this crisis.
Phase two:
We believe that charity does not fix the issue, it just alleviates it for a short moment. For this reason, we are working on sustainable ideas.
We are sending more money in a month or two; with this, we will be working on the possibility of starting a production of quality shirts that are on trend with bold messages.
The money we will send, will give them the incentive to start hiring people (create jobs) and produce at a full-time capability shirts to be sold in the US and Europe. Thanks to this we will produce a steady flow of income in Venezuela which will be used to start investing and promoting the local economy.
We welcome anyone with a contact or with great ideas on what to do next. These shirts also will help people in Puerto Rico, how? the cost of the shirts is very low to produce; therefore, we will have people in Puerto Rico selling them and promoting it with the help of friends and family which will help people generate extra income in the island where the economy has been beaten strongly.
We will also be selling them online, giving us the income to move forward to creating other sustainable non-profits.
The world shouldn't suffer from hunger when there is so much food being wasted. There shouldn’t be people sleeping on the streets when one person can have four rooms to themselves. Sometimes people are in such tragic situations because they are lazy, but there are many more people out there whose government has taken away their chances and possibilities of progress; those are the people we want to help. We don't want to give free stuff to people, we want to give equal opportunities and chances so we can all thrive together.
We believe together we can fix the world. Today with your help a big change has been made to hundreds of people in Venezuela. If we can motivate more individuals and inspire others to care for one another, one day at a time, one community at a time, the world can be better for all of us.
Today is for Venezuela, tomorrow for Puerto Rico, and let this be just the beginning to unite the world in one sole mission which is to have basic human rights for all. Food and water which is a mandatory necessity for life are only getting to few who can afford it, but there is the triple of people who can’t. We are being greedy and making it hard for the less unfortunate to obtain; no one should be dying of hunger.
Fernando and I are very passionate about doing what we can for humanity; this is our purpose. Let this be the first of many projects we will be working on. This couldn't be possible without the help and support you gave us. It doesn't take too much money, and it doesn't take too many people. It takes love, compassion and determination.
With Love,
Waiyen Wong
