Help Shelby, Save Others!
Earlier this month, The Honorable Judge Robert J. "Shelby" George wandered in to a tar pit and became stuck. He seemed hopelessly bound there until an amazing group of strangers came together to save his life and extract him from the insidious tar. Once freed, Shelby was raced off to the vets to have his entire, splendid coat removed, the only method that seemed to help after hours of attempts to clean him failed. He spent a few rather scary days in the hospital to make sure he was healthy enough to return home. He has recovered quite a bit in the weeks since the incident, but his veteranary bills totalled $1800.
We are asking for your help in paying Shelby's vet bills, but would also like to take this opportunity to raise some funds for a local group who helps many, many animals just like Shelby. If you were inspired by the story of these selfless strangers giving their all to save poor Shelby, we ask you to consider making a donation here. We plan to donate every single cent raised beyond the exact total of Shelby's bills to the Humane Society of Utah, in the name The Honorable Judge himself, as well as the names of those who came together to save his life.
There is such a great need for us as humans to be better stewards to our creatures. If we can help the Humane Society to save even one more life, then we will have each made a huge difference. Please, consider helping as much as you are able. Here is a link to the Fox News story about Judge Shelby's rescue!
