Kaylee's Medical Fund

On March 10th I was driving home from grocery shopping when a couple of blocks from home I saw a ball of black fur in the middle of the street.  As I contemplated braving the traffic to move what I assumed was a dead cat to the side of the street, the ball of fluff turned and looked at me.  I nearly drove up onto the curb I pulled over so fast.

When I got to that ball of fur, I found a half grown kitten laying there, mewing pitifully at me to help.  Even though she must have been in great pain, the kitten didn't bite, scratch or even hiss.  After a quick stop at home to drop off the groceries and pick up a carrier, I called the vet's office to warn them I was coming and headed right over.

First thing they did once the got the kitty out of the cage was check for a micro chip.  None.  This left me with the choice of having to put the kitten down or taking on the possibility of paying her more than likely high vet bills.  Not much of a choice.

While she had no injuries in her torso, her legs are another story. Her back right leg is broken and will need to be surgically fixed. The front right leg appears to have nerve damage and will need to be amputated. We are also unsure if she’s been fixed or not, so that’s another possible expense. She is also currently running a fever for some unknown reason, delaying the first surgery.

I’m guessing at the expense as she’s already been in the hospital for a week now. It will likely be more. I’ll update the cost as soon as they give me an estimate.

This little girl is about 4-6 months old and I’ve named her Kaylee from the show Firefly. For whatever you give, thank you. If you can’t afford money, then please boost the signal. This sweet little girl deserves a chance at a good life.
