Rhys í Bretland, MKA Matthew Reese is both a fellow SCAdian and friend. He is new to our shire, but has been active in the SCA for some time now. He is a wonderful father of a 6 year old little boy, a loving husband to Clicy. All the times I've got to know him he has been a fun, happy-go-lucky goofball. The kind of good man who wants to make sure everyone walks away smiling.
He got Pneumonia around Halloween. Due to his low sodium level it put a lot of strain on his heart, forcing it to work harder. This then compromised his kidneys and liver. This from his wife:
“Hey all. I'm writing this to let everyone know about Reese. We have been in the hospital with him for the last couple days. His prognosis is not good. We are facing 20 percent organ failure. He is also being put on a heart transplant list. He is not dire for the heart yet. They are only getting the ball rolling so it's less stress on us later. He has asked for prayers. Also this will put us in a financial disaster. But I will do what I need to to take care of him. Please just say a prayer that all goes well”
We can't let this happen. They are such a kind, generous, loving family. I'm calling on all my fellow SCAdians and Mundane friends alike. Let's join together, like I know my friends are capable of, and help this family in need.
All proceeds will go directly to the family to help them with medical and living expenses.
