Hello everyone,
My name is Steven Lothar Zuenskes.
This is RuPaul, my husband Turk's and my beloved & fat little fur-baby. We adopted him from a shelter near Turnersville, NJ in 2012. From there he braved the 3+ hour drive to our home in Connecticut, and the move cross-country to California a few years later.
We love him because he is the sweetest, oddball little cuddlebug in the world. He chirps whenever he walks or jumps, he suckles on your clothes as if he were nursing (sherpa is his favorite) and struts like a drag queen (he's lived up to the name).
Over the past few years he's suffered several life-threatening urinary blocks. We've tried medications, changed his diet (to that mad-expensive SO food which has resulted in the weight gain) and have gone through several, costly procedures to remove each block. Oddly, these always happen right around Christmas (or directly following), and with very little warning. Perhaps we should have named him Mr. Humbug instead.
Our family vet is urging us to schedule a perineal urethrostomy, surgically widening the diameter of his urethra (more details here). Your donations would help us cover the procedure, board, and after-care. We could really use your help as we've run out of other options, and simply don't have the funds to do this right away. Every blockage is life-threatening for Ru, and we don't want to lose our sweet boy.
