It is the largest communications network representing Lyme disease patients in the nation, with state-based internet groups throughout the US and widely distributed website content, blogs, social, and its journal, the Lyme Times. It is the most trusted source of patient information on Lyme disease, drawing over 4 million unique website visitors a year. LymeDisease.org is also one of the oldest Lyme organizations in the nation. Founded in 1989, we continually fight to make the patient voice stronger, to support patient-centered research, to create legislative change, and to create a future where Lyme patients can receive the treatments they need to get well. We do this through patient empowerment and science-based advocacy. In November 2015, LymeDisease.org launched MyLymeData, a patient-powered research project that is the first national large-scale study of both acute Lyme disease and chronic Lyme disease. Today, MyLymeData has enrolled over 7,300 patients, collected over one million data points, and is in the top 10% of patient registries in the nation. It is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
